Photos and video at Bowie Ball
Bowie Ball parties are photographed and filmed by our photographers, staff and the venue, and signs at the entrance let guests know. By coming to the party, you agree that you may appear in photos, video and audio recordings that we share on bowieball.com and our social channels, and in promotion for Bowie Ball.
If you’d rather not be photographed
Just tell our photographer, or anyone on the Bowie Ball team, and we’ll do our best to keep you out of our shots. Crowd and dance-floor shots may still catch you in the background. If a photo of you gets posted anyway, we’ll take it down.
Taking a photo down
If there’s a photo or video of you you’d like removed, send us a photo removal request or email contact@bowieball.com with a link to it. We’ll remove it from bowieball.com and our own social accounts, usually within a few days. We can’t remove copies that other people or outlets have already shared, but we’re happy to help you ask.
No facial recognition
We don’t use facial recognition, and we don’t collect face scans or any other biometric information from our photos or guests. Social platforms where photos are shared may offer their own tagging features under their own policies.
Taking photos and video yourself
- Phone photos and short videos for your own social media are welcome. Tag @bowieballchicago so we can see them.
- Respect guests who don’t want to be photographed.
- Please don’t record or livestream full performances or DJ sets. Performers’ acts and mixes belong to them.
- Keep flash off and phones low during performances so everyone can see.
- Professional cameras, tripods, lighting rigs and drones need a press credential, and the venue has the final say.
Press and media
Photographers, videographers and journalists who want to cover Bowie Ball can request press access. Please ask at least a week before the party. Credentialed media are asked to respect guests who don’t want to be photographed.
If we repost your photos
If you tag us, we may ask to repost your photo or video with credit. We won’t use it on bowieball.com without your permission.
Photo credits and reuse
All photos are © their respective photographers and are credited on each gallery. Please don’t reuse, edit or sell them without permission. For licensing, contact the photographer or email us.
